Record donations

The Oxford County Archives has a firm commitment to preserving and making available the County of Oxford’s total archival heritage, regardless of the source. We are always interested in receiving donations, provided that the records meet the terms of our Acquisition Policy.

Donors should understand that the material will become the property of the archives upon completion of a Deed of Gift. We must have assurances that the records will belong to the archives for many years to come before we invest in their preservation and promotion of their use to the general public.

Our mandate

“The Oxford County Archives acquires, conserves and provides access to the inactive historical records of Oxford County, its agencies, boards and commissions.” If you are unsure if your records meet the mandate please contact the Oxford County Archives. Archives staff can provide suggestions for alternate locations to donate your records if they do not meet our mandate.

Deed of Gift

Please see our Deed of Gift form. In preparation for your donation, we ask that you please fill in any information you are able to on the form prior to your visit. If you require assistance filling out the Deed of Gift form, please print the form and bring it with you to the archives.

*If you do not have access to a printer, staff can print the form for you onsite at the archives.
